Anything Can Go Wrong

Malcolm Adams didn’t want to go out on such a night, but his girlfriend, Catherine Campbell, insisted.  They hadn’t been out in a while, so, rain or shine, Catherine wanted to go out.  He loves his girlfriend very much, but he has a bad feeling about tonight.  He has thought about calling her and canceling, but he doesn’t want to disappoint her.  He grabs his coat and walks out to his car, driving to Catherine’s house to pick her up.

He texts her when he’s in the driveway, and almost immediately, she walks out, running to his car before she gets too wet from the rain.  She has long, blonde hair, wearing a cozy, purple coat and long, skinny blue jeans.  She smiles, giving Malcolm a kiss on his cheek when she gets in.  “I’m so happy to see you!”  She says.  He smiles as well,

“You too!”

“Oh yeah, I called Daphne, and her and Anthony are going to meet us at the theater.  You don’t mind, do you?”

Malcolm starts backing out of the driveway as he speaks.  “Of course not!  The more the merrier, right?”

“Great!”  Catherine turns the heat up in the car.  She has always been sensitive to the cold.  She hates it.  But it gives Malcolm more of an excuse to cuddle up next to her and hold her hand.  Not that he needs any excuses other than he’s her boyfriend.
Suddenly, they hit a large bump on the road, making the car too and swerve. They both scream, and Malcolm slams on the breaks. After a few, long, agonizing seconds, the car stops. Malcolm looks at Catherine, making sure she's unscathed. "Are you okay?" He asks gently, trying to keep everything calm.

"I... I think so..." Catherine shakes, and Malcolm embraces her in his arms from the driver's seat, comforting her. "What did we hit?"
"I'm not sure..." Malcolm replies. He gets out of the car, flipping his hood over his head. He looks around, but doesn't see any sort of bump anywhere. "I don't see anything!" But he hears no reply from Catherine. "Catherine?" He runs to the passenger's side of the car, not seeing his girlfriend there. "Catherine?!!" He shouts, starting to panic. Where could she have gone? She would never run off; not in this stormy weather. What should he do?!

---------------------------------

Catherine's hands are bound, and her eyes are blindfolded. She had screamed as much as she could, but to no avail.  No one could hear her.
She knows that they are walking through a forest. She can smell the nature around her."Who are you?!"  She screams out.  One of the men kicks her.
"Shut up! You're going to be our sacrifice!"

Catherine gasps, tears falling down her face, hoping that Malcolm will find her.
